The new Desert War expansion brings new units and strategies to Dune: War for Arrakis.

The Gamefound Edition comes with the following EXCLUSIVES:

• 3 Fremen Camp miniatures
• 3 Plastic Fremen Camp tokens
• 4 Plastic Harkonnen Desert War tokens

Each round, the Atreides place 3 Fremen Camp tokens in different Sectors. These temporary bases are used to deploy Rocket Launchers and give the Atreides different Prescience Points when the Rocket Launchers manage to blow up a Harvester.

Striking from secret camps, Rocket Launchers are a constant menace to Harkonnen machinery. With a Desert War Action, the Atreides can command all Rocket Launchers in a Sector to fire at Harkonnen Vehicles in that Sector, blowing up Harvester, Ornithopters, and even Carryalls.

Experts at dealing with Shai-Hulud, Sandriders can be deployed instead of Wormsigns, acting as a Wormsign for all purposes. Harkonnen Legions can easily take them out, but not before they summon a Sandworm to exact revenge. The Sandrider Leader special Action also summons a Sandworm, which he rides extremely effectively, increasing its range and destructive power.

Equipped with suspensor and environmental suits, Harkonnen Suspensor Troopers move quickly, bypassing obstacles to scout Sietches and hidden Fremens and to clear out Wormsigns, all the while avoiding Sandworms and Coriolis Storms. They clash against Rocket Launchers and Sandriders to eliminate their threat.

Escort Ornithopters can be deployed instead of regular Ornithopters, combining mobility and combat support. They can not only be used to move nearby Legions 2 Areas away, but they then join that Legion, becoming a Generic Leader adding firepowerand great resilience to the Legion.
