Viceroy Scrutator - "Death Marble"

High above the neon-soaked sprawl or drifting silently at street level like a malevolent gray moon, the Viceroy Scrutator is the unblinking eye and iron fist of the Viceroys, the corporate overlords of the city of Haven. A spherical terror one meter in diameter, its armored shell bristles with recessed cameras, glowing sensor lenses, and weapon ports that can blossom into paralysis rays or full-auto shredders at a moment’s notice. A jagged antenna spikes from its crown like a raised middle finger to the streets below.

Street gangs call them Death Marbles for good reason. One wrong look, one twitch toward a weapon, and the marble decides your fate: a flashing fine for petty crimes, a paralytic beam that drops offenders to the wet pavement, or (if you’re feeling especially suicidal) a hail of high-velocity rounds that paints the alley in red.

Viceroy officers can jack straight into a Scrutator’s feed, their voice crackling from the floating orb as it hovers inches from your face, cold and clinical. “Citizen. Drop the blade. This is your only warning.”

Hated by every soul in Haven, the Scrutators are equal parts judge, jury, and, if need be, executioner. They never sleep, never blink, and never forget. In the cyberpunk hell of Haven, the sky is never empty. And the Death Marbles are always watching.
