Description

For two hours you’ve clung to the rail of your ship, struggling against the wind and waves that want to capsize it and send you and your crew to a watery grave. Finally, the sky clears and the water calms. You look to shore and see the rusted-out hull of a water tower peeking above the tree line. Nearby, threads of smoke rise from cook fires. This could mean new trading partners, or it could be raiders luring you into an ambush. It’s your job to find out which.

Tales from the Great Lakes details new locations for the Broken Earth setting. They are as follows.

The Haunted Straits: A community living along the waterways that connect Lake Superior to the rest of the Great Lakes. They fear outsiders and spread rumors that the land is haunted to scare intruders away.

Radiant Grove: An underground city built in a massive tree that feeds on radiation instead of light. The simians who live there avoid outsiders.

Ludington: A fishing community and home to a burgeoning religion dedicated to protecting their lighthouse.

Badger Lakestead: A community of freethinkers living in a floating city centered around an ancient ferry, the SS Badger.

Hart Plaza: Built among the ruins of Detroit, this town is known for its street food and open-air bazaar.

Fire Queen of Dover: A small but growing community protected by a mutant human with a psychic link to dragons.

The Falls: A regional power built next to Niagara Falls. Technocrats with pre-war tech operate a casino and provide electricity thanks to a hydroelectric dam.
