Back to the bartender's tale of Dougulus Kaien, the Silver Knight, held captive in a guerilla-held mining village in Kastenpo that is about to be decimated by a mortar headd force sent by the local Republic of U-thu. In the course of his attempt to get out of the predicament with as little cooperation and effort as possible, he finds a trunk of clothes full of fatima clothing, which ends up belonging to none other than Atropos, one of the three destinies, who had disappeared to assume leadership of the guerillas. She is the key for the fatima-less Kaien to put his MH, the Schpeltor, into operation for a successful counterattack. The bartender's tale ends and the conversation turns to the recent occurrence of mysterious mortar headd duels that have invariably left one of the combatants in complete shambles. The culprit is a frightening fellow by the name of Iler the Bishop from the Mejojo Dynasty, in town to test a new MH called the Ashura Temple. His next victims turn out to be none other than Michael Lester, Palsuet and their MH Pluto. Without Lester's protection, Palsuet's fate is the worst of all. Finally, it comes time for Kaien to redeem his fatima Auxo from major surgery at the Corks laboratory, where the two are reunited with Auxo's memory miraculously in tact.
