Introduction

A mysterious black box video game cabinet has come to J’town. The only identifying markings on the box is the game logo which simply reads “Polybius”. No one knows for sure where the cabinet came from or even when it arrived, but it can be found at Bloat’s Gas & Go. An almost mass-hysteria/ addiction is sweeping across the teens of J’town, as everyone is jockeying for their turn to play what is only being described as the greatest video game ever!

Soon after Polybius arrival, strange occurrences begin happening to those who have played it. Some have disappeared, while others have been rushed to the hospital in comatose states, and one teen has even died. The dimwitted police and adults have yet to see the connection between these events. Also, there have been reports of men and women in black suits and sunglasses, watching people play the game, and following teens in plain white vans.

Neither, the disappearances, health problems, or death have done anything to dissuade J’town’s teens from playing this game. It’s actually only made its appeal and mystique grow.

Now it’s up to the player characters to get to the bottom of the mysterious game cabinet and people in black that are snooping around, and to do it before anyone else is hurt or worse.

Character Levels 1-3

This scenario is suited for low-level characters and is more about exploration and espionage than combat.
