Description

Masterpiece Models of the USA is a maker of incredibly detailed and amazingly accurate resin and multimedia model kits of dinosaur fossils, military subjects, science fiction subjects, and real space subjects. They also have a line of great diorama bases, too! Be sure to check out the entire line of excellent kits.

Project Constellation is NASA's plan to develop a series of spacecraft and booster vehicles in order to replace the Space Shuttle and send astronauts to the Moon and possibly to Mars. The stated goal is to gain significant experience in operating away from Earth's environment, develop technologies needed for opening the space frontier, and conduct fundamental science.

From the Masterpiece Models website: "The 1/48 scale Orion CEV consists of two highly detailed modules: the Crew Module (CM) measuring approximately 4.5" diameter and 2.5" tall, and the Service Module (SM) 4.5" diameter and 5" long. Fine details are included such as hatch mold lines, RCS thrusters and LIDS docking adaptor suited to docking to the matching LSAM model. Also included are a pair of round Solar Arrays in Photo-etched Brass.

"The LSAM also features two separating modules: The Descent Module (DS) standing 6" tall, with a footprint 8" across, and Ascent Module (AS) 4" tall, 5" across.

"Standing 10" tall when assembled (11" with all the antennas) this is again a very high fidelity model including mold lines, airlock, RCS thruster packs, windows, docking adaptor designed to mate to the CEV, ladder, and Mylar covered tanks throughout.

Models & Model Kits are supplied unpainted and unassembled unless otherwise noted.
