Description

The campaign in Malaya began when the Japanese invaded the north of Malay Peninsula before dawn on 8 December 1941, a day after their attack on Pearl Harbor; and, ended just 70 days later on 15 February 1942 with the surrender of Singapore in the far south. Described by Winston Churchill as “the worst disaster and larges capitulation in British history, the lighting campaign had profound effects, not just upon the course of world war II; but, upon the post-war world. The idea of unassailable European power, the bedrock of colonialism, had been shattered. The demand for independence in the colonial territories became unstoppable.

The Claws of the Tiger as an innovative mechanism which places a greater emphasis that most games upon the fog of war. This generates a good deal of tension and excitement and puts players in the shoes of their historical counterparts as they struggle for control of the Malay Peninsula. In addition to the standard two-player game, The Claws of the Tiger incorporates a solo variant which allows a player to command the British against the invading Japanese.

Can you come up with a strategy to replicate the stunning success of the Japanese; or to re-write history by leading the British to victory?
