Pegasus

Here is an item that you just don’t see every day. Pegasus is an actual training wargame used by the United States Army to prepare command groups for the rigors of an actual combat scenario. It uses homemade counters and maps and uses a control group to administer.

The four books that make up the game are a rulebook, intended only to be read by the control group, a control group instruction booklet, which defines the roles and responsibilities of each member of the control group, a book of combat results tables for weapons ranging from conventional firearms all the way to air support, chemical, and nuclear weapons, and lastly an evaluation guide to rate participant performance.

This is both a fully-functional wargame and an opportunity to get a glimpse into the complexities of military commander training in the last century of warfare.
