Description

This adventure tells the story of the brave band of adventurers who opened Fortune's Gate in the True Grind Adventure "Opening Fortune's Gate." At the end of that adventure, the party had successfully plowed their way through the evil-infested streets of the conquered city of Gillhavenm and in an act of unparalleled heroism, the opened a gateway into the city so that another group of adventurers could charge in and enter the proving tower of Mage Academy of Gillhaven.

Having accomplished their mission of seeing the other party enter the proving tower, the adventurers ready themselves to make their escape through Fortune's Gate and into the Chillwood Forest, Unfortunately the evil inside Gillhaven was cunning as well as vile, For the horde was able to slam shut the Fortune's Gate before the heroes could make their escape, and for the first time the adventures readied themselves for what they knew would be their final glorious battle.

It was at that time when a hurried call came from the shadowed doorway of another tower at the mage academy. As the party looked into an alcove they saw the ornate door contained therein open slowly, The light from the room beyond flooded the area and it was at that time they beheld a familiar sight. The rogue was leaning up against the doorway with his thieves' tools spinning between his fingers and sly smile on his face.

After a brief glance at each other, the party members quickly entered and shut the door, not noticing a small engraving on the keystone of the door reading "Advanced Proving Tower" With a few well-placed strokes of his tools, the door was once again locked - and the party looked about to find their escape before the door was broken down by the hungry horde outside.

This module was the Official True Dungeon Tournament module of GenCon 2011. This hard copy details the setup of the dungeon itself as well as pictures of the monster boards used, and the puzzles that the players were put up against. This is a unique window into an adventure that will never be seen again!
