Description

It has been one year since the red dragon Smoak has appeared in the area. He has been busy during this time, as he has marshaled a great force of evil to his aid, Together they have overrun the elven city of Gillhaven where Smoak has claimed a cave on the cliff above the city as his lair.

The wizard who accidentally set Smoak free has hired the party of adventurers to complete an important task. He wants you to sneak into Smoak's cave via a tower inside an elven mage academy that is built along the cliff face where Smoak's cave can be found. Once the party is inside they must retrieve an ancient relic that has been guarded by the elves for many decades. The "Evading Hilt" is a weapon of unknowable foulest magic that has been guarded by the warding magic that Smoak has not been able to penetrate. The party must enter the cave and figure out a way to overcome the protective magic so they can bring the evil artifact back to Bibwik. Should it's dark magic ever fall into Smoak's wicked claws he would use it to wreak even more horrors on the world. He would be Neigh unstoppable.

The good news is that the party will not have to defeat Smoak in order to recover the relic. Another brave group of battle hardened adventurers will be entering the cave at the same time and their onslaught will keep Smoak's attention while the party works at the back of the cave.

This module was the Official True Dungeon Tournament module of GenCon 2010. This hard copy details the setup of the dungeon itself as well as pictures of the monster boards used, and the puzzles that the players were put up against. This is a unique window into an adventure that will never be seen again!
