Description

Welcome to The Great Game- a timeless diversion that weaves through centuries and across dimensions, ruthlessly ensnaring warriors and kings, destroying human pawns and transforming ordinary men, women and children into wizards and gods....

In the summer of 1914, as the storm of war us about to break upon Europe, young Edward Exeter wakes up under police guard in a British hospital- seriously injured and accused of murder. He remembers only snatches of a strange and terrible dream.

The dream comes alive when a crazed knife-wielding woman attacks him. But a mysterious little man saves his life, claiming that the secret forces behind the great war are also out to destroy Edward. His only hope is at Stonehenge, where a strange ritual sends him across a magical border to the world Nextdoor.

There, earthborn mortals can live forever, acquiring mana-magical powers-from the worship of natives. For Centuries, the ruling Pantheon of gods have played a game of conquest, with the people of Nextdoor as pawns. The god of Death has gained preeminence, accumulating overwhelming power through bloody sacrifices.

Now an ancient prophecy threatens Death's power. And on Nextdoor, Edward Exeter is D'ward the Liberator, the one who will bring death to Death.
