Description

Since the day he was born Mongo has been preparing for a momentous task. Every generation one Brute is chose to become the Warden, the mighty protector of his race. Throughout his childhood he trained for this duty. Mongo grew up learning to fight, pitting himself against the strongest and fastest individuals his tribe had to offer. When he wasn’t practicing his skills in combat he was honing his strength; hauling rocks in the mine above his home, lifting and carrying objects it would otherwise have taken a team of men to move, dragging home wrecked vehicles for salvage or simply smashing boulders for the sheer joy of it. Every day he was also fed a small portion of growth stimulant until his muscles reached distorted proportions and he was stronger than any Brute that had ever lived, able to smash through walls and rip the axel from a methane truck. It was not enough.

To be Warden strength of mind is needed as well as strength of body. Mongo’s will may have been unquenchable and his body unmatchable but his wits, the Brute elders sadly agreed, were not up to the task ahead. The role of Warden was instead given to a powerful young male named Orphed. Mongo did not give up, it was the duty of every Brute to fight and protect their people. He roamed from one battle to another lending his might wherever it was required. At the Clash of the Broken Peaks he saw Orphed killed. He had ripped the arm from an Abomination to use as a club but the sinister Father Curwen slipped inside his guard and cut him down. Bereft of a Warden the Brute Elders offered the role to Mongo but, in an unprecedented move, he refused. “I have offered my best and failed”, he said, “It was not enough to save Orphed, who was the greatest of us living. I cannot be Warden but I shall give my strength to my people, wherever and whenever it is asked for”. Today Mongo is a hero to all Outcasts, symbolizing strength in the face of adversity and the unyielding will to be free.

Miniatures are supplied unpainted and assembly may be required.
