Vilthiss - Champion of Khthon

Of all the Gorgonars, Vilthiss is perhaps the most skilled and brutal warrior the Atalantes have ever created in their hundreds of years of arcane experiments and progeneration, for in battle his will is unbreakable and his strength legendary and until the revolt of the Khthones began he was also one of their most trusted guardians, for even though he knew of the perfidy and brutality of his masters, knew that their decadence and corruption was sowing the seeds of hate in his heart and in those of his kin, still he remained loyal until the Atalantes became weak and too reliant upon the sklávoi, too trusting of them for had not those that had tried to free themselves from their chains before been slaughtered by the strange and unworldly weapons of the Atalantes?

So, for many years (perhaps hundreds of years, for none now remember his creation) Vilthiss was content to watch and wait, to fight in the wars of the Atalantes as hard as he had ever done, to win great victories for them, until one could assure him of freedom forever, of a future where his allegiance could be given to the Khthones alone. Thus, when Ophius first led the Gorgonars openly in revolt against their masters, Vilthiss was amongst the first to join him in defiance and retribution, for in Ophius he could see victory for the Khthones, and in Vilthiss could Ophius see a champion of Khthon.
