Description

Why do all roads seem to lead to Luskan? Drizzt has asked himself that question before, and will ask it again when he once more finds himself fighting side-by-side with Captain Deudermont of the pirate hunter Sea Sprite. Drizzt has come to Luskan in search of an old friend, but Deudermont has come to Luskan to fight. Drizzt will back him up, even while he tries to talk him out of it.

And though Deudermont is right, that the city is ostensibly in the hands of a ruthless gang of pirate captains, neither he nor Drizzt realizes that the real power behind scenes is the Arcane Brotherhood, a cabal of wizards now under the complete control of the lich Arklem Greeth. The pirate captains won't go down without a fight, but the lich might take the whole city down with him.

When the best of intentions meet the worst of enemies, a complex web of intrigue and betrayal entraps Drizzt and some of his oldest, dearest friends. And not all of them will escape that web alive. Following on the heels of the smash hit The Orc King, there's more change afoot for Drizzt, and the Forgotten Realms world itself. And the dark fate of one port city is just the beginning. The Pirate King is a must-read bridge to the new Drizzt adventure The Ghost King.
