Shadows of the Halfling Hall (1st Printing)

It was common knowledge throughout Hobbston that Willic Brambletoe gave the best feasts and threw the most memorable events. Ever have his halls been deep, warm and filled with mirth. So it has always been.

But of late some tragedy or other has beset Brambletoe, his hall and guests and the whole of Hobbston beside. Foul play or murder, none know, but in Brambletoe's Hall, in the deepening hours of the night, the Mayor, the sheriff and a host of the good men of Hobbston were last seen.

A shadow hung over the hall from that day forward and all those who went in failed to return. But the shadow of fear spread, becoming palatable and others began to disappear. Some farmers living in comfortable isolation, others from beneath the noses of the very families vanished without a trace. And too, some weirdlings haunt the late hours of the night, stalking the street of Hobbston intent on some devilry.

So Hobbston has come to know the shallow welcome of the other world. In fear they have called for aid, sending riders forth to find courageous heroes willing to rid the town and its suffragans of the terror of the Shadow of the Halfling Hall.
